Francesco Franchi is a visionary infographic designer, journalist, professor and author. In his book “Design News: Changing the World of Editorial Design and Information Graphics“ (Gestalten, 2013) about the fundamental change in the way media is used includes analyses, points of view and comprehensive thoughts about the future of the news and media industry.

Franchi is a true master of combining representation and interpretation, creating a visual form that is as graphic as it is narrative, as entertaining as it is informative.

His work has received numerous awards (European Design Award, SPD Print Awards, D&DA Awards, etc.) and has been exhibited in cities such as London, Moscow, Rome and Chicago.

PROF. KOICHIRO TANAKA

Ko Tanaka was born in Nara, Japan and worked for a film and digital production for 7 years. In 2004, he founded Projector, an interdisciplinary creative studio based in Tokyo.

He has produced some of the most watched and shared brand contents on the web, and is recognized as one of the creative leaders in the area of digital advertising. Especially, his effort for the global branding of Uniqlo has been drawing an international attention.

Among his over 100 international awards are 15 Cannes Lions (including 2 Grand Prix and 6 Golds). He has also been named as Ad week’s “The Top Creative Minds in Digital.” In 2013, he moved to New York to start a new adventure.

Van Bo Le-Mentzel is a creative lateral thinker who sees rule-breaking as an opportunity and interprets the art of seeing with a variety of approaches.

He studied architecture and is involved in diverse projects. For example, he is co-founder of the Berlin “Kiez-Tank-Stelle” association, which organizes so-called “school talks”. He gained international recognition for developing “Hartz-IV” designer furniture, named after Germany’s social welfare system, and the do-it-yourself 1 square metre house.

At the moment, he is addressing the question as to how the world and the economy will function in the future. For this purpose, he wants to bring together progressive thinkers from the education scene and the most inspiring minds from the new economy.

Alexandra Daisy Ginsberg – a designer, artist and writer has been elected by Paola Antonelli, Design-Curator of MoMa N.Y. and Alice Rawthorn, Design-Critic of New York Times as one oft he most promising designers of the decade.

Seeking new roles for design, Daisy is developing experimental design approaches to help us imagine alternative ideals around technology. She explores the social, ethical and cultural implications of emerging technologies, especially synthetic biology.

As investigating both aesthetic and ethical futures for design she works with scientists, engineers, artists, designers, social scientists, galleries and industry around the world. She began a PhD by practice, The Dream of Better, exploring the idea of a ‘better’ future, at the Royal College of Art in London, in 2013.

Her work has been exhibited internationally, including MoMA New York, London’s Design Museum, the Art Institute of Chicago, the Israel Museum, the Museum of Contemporary Art, Tokyo and the National Museum of China.

Harald Welzer is Co-Founder and Director of the “Futurzwei” charitable foundation and has been Honorary Professor for Transformation Design at the Europa University of Flensburg since July 2012, where he is Head of the Norbert Elias Center for Transformation Design & Research. In addition, Welzer is an Affiliated Member of Faculty at the Marial Center at Emory University (Atlanta/USA). He also teaches at the University of St. Gallen and is member of numerous committees and academies.

His theses take a view of the “bigger picture”: “Growing companies only really start to function when all needs have been met, and not because there are still constantly open needs that need to be fulfilled.” We are delighted to confirm that Harald Welzer will be joining us as keynote speaker at the see-Conference.

Volker Schlöndorff ist wohl einer der bedeutendsten und international erfolgreichsten deutschen Filmemacher. Er besitzt eine ausgeprägte Vorliebe für Verfilmungen deutscher und internationaler Literaturklassiker. Mit Begeisterung widmet er sich Werken, die als unverfilmbar gelten und macht sie dem breiten Publikum zugänglich und verständlich. Doch auch gesellschaftskritische Arbeiten gehören zu seinem Repertoire. Alle seine Filme sind sehr anspruchsvoll und gleichzeitig unterhaltend.

Für die Adaption des Grass-Stücks Die Blechtrommel hat Volker Schlöndorff einen Oscar erhalten, für sein aktuelles Werk Diplomatie den César.

1964 entstand Schlöndorffs erster eigener Film – Der junge Törless. Es folgen viele weitere Filme wie ein munterer, boshafter Genre-Mix in Mord und Totschlag oder ein Ausflug in das Genre des Heimatfilms mit Der plötzliche Reichtum der armen Leute von Kombach sowie eine westernartige Adaption mit Michael Kohlhaas – Der Rebell oder auch eine Emanzipationsgeschichte wie in Strohfeuer oder Die verlorene Ehre der Katharina Blum zusammen mit Margarethe von Trotta.
