Duncan Clark is co-founder of Flourish, a tool that allows non-coders to produce high-end data visualisations and interactive stories. Flourish grew out of Kiln, an award-winning London-based data visualisation studio that Duncan set up with developer Robin Houston in 2012.

Before working full-time on data visualisation, Duncan was a Guardian journalist, author and publisher with a special interest in technology and climate change. His last book, The Burning Question, co-written with Mike Berners-Lee, was described as Al Gore as “Fascinating, important and highly recommended”

Mikael Colville-Andersen is one of the world’s leading urban planners. He pursues the approach of making cities more bicycle-friendly and thus improving the quality of life there. Rather than focusing on cities from a technical perspective, he concentrates on designing them. The Guardian calls him the Richard Dawkins of cycling.

Colville-Andersen is the founder of Copenhagenize Design Company and advises cities and governments worldwide. The Copenhagenize Index ranks major cities, reflecting the global development of metropolitan bicycle traffic.

The London-based studio FIELD sees itself as a developer of new forms of brand communication. It combines art and technology, which find expression in kinetic installations, moving images, generative design or interactions.

The aim is to create audiovisual experiences. FIELD is always situated at the interface between abstract and representational form, between sensual perception and synaesthesia.

Vera-Maria Glahn, the founding partner and managing director of FIELD explain the unique interplay of colours, shapes and movement and, thus, the core of Studio FIELD.

Anna Heringer creates buildings that go beyond the aesthetic, houses that are both appealing and have a concept behind them. Her projects feature traditional forms of construction, involve the local population and are environmentally friendly. Anna Heringer holds several guest professorships, including a UNESCO honorary professorship for clay construction, construction culture and sustainable development.

Among other things, she became known worldwide for the METI school project in Bangladesh. Anna Heringer integrated the traditional construction method using clay and bamboo into the project. Her hostels in Baoxi, China, also blend in with the environment and draw on local traditions. Indeed, the three buildings were constructed using the craft of basket weaving.

Anna Ginsburg’s art is about connecting various techniques such as traditional hand drawings, stop-motion, digital images, or live actions in her films. Her first music video for the Bombay Bicycle Club’s “How Can You Swallow So Much Sleep” won a Bafta; she received accolades worldwide for “Private Parts”.

The artist links old and new, conventional and unusual. In her own unique way, she succeeds in communicating contents and producing expressive videos.

Stefan Kaegi co-founded the “Rimini Protokoll” together with Helmgard Kim Haug and Daniel Wetzel. The team of author-directors creates documentary stage plays, radio plays, and city productions which often break down economic relationships to their human components.

Their work focuses on breaking up what seems to be reality and presenting all of its facets from unusual perspectives. For instance, Rimini Protokoll announced that a Daimler shareholder meeting was a piece of theater and developed accessible Stasi audio dramas, in which the observation logs could be listened to by cell phone.
